IOC President updates IOC Members on steps and considerations regarding Tokyo 2020 postponement

IOC President Thomas Bach invited the IOC Members to a conference call on Thursday. During the call, the IOC President and the Members discussed the postponement of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

All those IOC Members who spoke expressed their full support for the decision and the decision-making procedure leading to the postponement. They emphasised the importance of the fact that this had been a joint decision taken with the Japanese government in order to organise successful Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Attached is the letter from the IOC President in which he invited the IOC Members to the call and outlined the steps and considerations which led to the postponement of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 to no later than summer 2021.
