ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AND CORRUPTION IN SPORT
SUMMARY
Following on the Workshop on “IPACS Future Frontiers: AI” organised within the framework of SportAccord Summit 2024, the launch of the Olympic AI Agenda in April 2024, and the subsequent conversations, IPACS partners agreed to establish a new Working Group to explore the potential risks of AI for corruption, and its benefits for anti-corruption, in sport.
The initial tasks of the Working Group are the following:
- Explore the risks that AI could present in terms of corruption, specifically within sports, and as importantly, how AI could be used as a tool to prevent and investigate such corruption;
- Exchange developments, good practices and lessons learned regarding IPACS partners approaches to AI in their respective ecosystems, with a focus on the risk of corruption, and the benefits for using AI as an anti-corruption for preventing and investigating corruption, both in the context of sport.
