Countdown to IPACS’ Annual General Conference

It’s less than two weeks to go to this year’s Annual General Conference of the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS), which will be hosted by the National Olympic Committee of Italy (CONI) on 11 October in Rome. The hybrid event will bring together more than 100 officials from governments, sports organisations and inter-governmental organisations, as well as relevant entities from the private sector and academia. The conference focus will be on the following topics:

  • the promotion of good governance in sport, including the presentation of a new pragmatic tool developed by IPACS;
  • the status, evolution and ambitions of cooperation networks aiming to fight corruption in sport, with best practice examples from the Olympic Games Paris 2024;
  • the latest trends and successes of using artificial intelligence to fight corruption in sport, and a presentation of the newly created dedicated IPACS Working Group;
  • the appointment of the IPACS Chair for the term 2025-2026, with a government to succeed the IOC as previous Chair; and
  • the strategic roadmap for 2025-26 and the next steps for the partnership.

Fighting corruption in sport is essential for preserving sport’s integrity and core values. IPACS provides a platform for dialogue with the aim of proposing pragmatic solutions to the issue, while harnessing the expertise and experience of all actors.
