Staying strong at home – Olympic style!

Looking for inspiration when you’re stuck at home? Olympic.org presents some activities that will keep your Olympic spirit going strong.

Keeping your mind and body healthy is always important, but even more so in these tough times, with many athletes stuck at home or unable to train normally for long periods. That’s why olympic.org has come up with a list of things you can do at home to stay active and keep the Olympic spirit going strong!

Olympic State of Mind

One of the Olympic Channel’s latest interactive features is called Olympic State of Mind. This multimedia experience offers you the chance to learn techniques from some of the best athletes around, including wrestler Jordan Burroughs (USA), badminton player PV Sindhu (India), and prodigious swimmer Ariarne Titmus (Australia), to help you be your best self.

Can imagining success actually help you achieve it? | Olympic State of Mind

Presented by Bridgestone, Olympic State of Mind helps you achieve your personal goals by helping you train your brain like an Olympian through three tried and trusted mental performance techniques: mindfulness, visualisation and motivation. The featured athletes share their own personalised methods and explain how these can be used by everyone to make a better version of themselves.

Physical training might be difficult at this time but training your mind and becoming a better version of yourself have never been easier through this immersive and fun experience.

Home workouts

Fortunately, through the power of social media, top athletes have been able to share with us how they have been coping and their ways of staying fit in these tough times.

Tennis player and winner of two gold medals at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 Kaja Juvan (Slovenia) has been just one of many athletes to share her routine at home with others online to inspire fans and show that training at home is possible.

You can join in, too, and share your home workouts using the hashtags #stayactive, #staystrong and #stayhealthy to let others know how you’re keeping fit from home.
